Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
La laurea in Biologia molecolare approfondisce la comprensione degli aspetti molecolari e biochimici alla base dei diversi processi biologici. Il corso prevede al primo anno tutti gli insegnamenti di base utili per un'immediata comprensione del mondo biologico. Nei successivi due anni vengono invece sviluppati gli aspetti funzionali, cellulari, e molecolari alla base dell'organizzazione dei viventi Pur caratterizzata da una forte connotazione molecolare, la laurea in Biologia molecolare resta associata ad una visione integrata del mondo biologico sia a livello cellulare che organismico.

Ambiti occupazionali
La laurea in Biologia molecolare costituisce la base culturale fondamentale per proseguire gli studi in un corso di laurea magistrale coerente. In alternativa, il laureato potrà accedere direttamente al mondo del lavoro per svolgere attività professionali e tecniche relative ad analisi, controllo e gestione di attività produttive e tecnologiche in laboratori e servizi pubblici e privati, più in particolare nei laboratori dell'industria farmaceutica, agro-alimentare e biotecnologica. Potrà inoltre operare in laboratori di ricerca e servizi di bioinformatica. Il laureato potrà iscriversi (dopo il superamento del relativo esame di stato) all'albo per la professione di biologo sezione B, con il titolo professionale di biologo junior, per lo svolgimento delle attività codificate.

Dalla triennale alla magistrale
Il corso dà accesso ai corsi di laurea magistrale in Biologia molecolare e in Biologia sanitaria, secondo le modalità che saranno indicate negli specifici avvisi di ammissione.
