Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso di laurea in Chimica fornisce allo studente una buona preparazione nei diversi settori della chimica, sia per quanto riguarda gli aspetti teorici che quelli sperimentali. Il percorso formativo, previa acquisizione delle conoscenze fisico-matematiche di base, è incentrato sulle discipline chimiche fondamentali. Per i principali ambiti delle discipline chimiche sono previsti più insegnamenti, articolati in lezioni d'aula per gli aspetti teorico-descrittivi e gli esercizi, e lezioni in laboratorio per gli aspetti applicativi. È prevista un'intensa attività di laboratorio finalizzata, oltre all'acquisizione delle necessarie conoscenze sperimentali, a fornire l'adeguata conoscenza delle procedure tipiche dei laboratori chimici, a partire dalla gestione del rischio e delle norme di sicurezza, e delle moderne strumentazioni di interesse chimico. La formazione nelle discipline chimiche comprende anche insegnamenti specifici di chimica biologica e di chimica applicata ai processi industriali. È previsto un corso denominato “Formazione per le scelte professionali” in cui verranno affrontate diverse tematiche attinenti all'inserimento nel mercato del lavoro.

Ambiti occupazionali
Il laureato ha diverse opportunità di lavoro che riguardano prevalentemente l'industria e i laboratori di ricerca e di analisi presso aziende private ed enti pubblici (Servizi multizonali di prevenzione, Azienda/ULSS, CNR, università, ecc.), anche nei settori sanitario, dell'energia e della conservazione dei beni culturali. Ulteriore prospettiva è quella dell'attività di consulenza (anche come libero professionista per le competenze previste per il laureato di I livello), soprattutto nei settori riguardanti le attività di analisi e controllo, di salvaguardia dell'ambiente e della protezione civile.

Il corso dà accesso al corso di laurea magistrale in Chimica, secondo le modalità che saranno indicate nello specifico avviso di ammissione.
