Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso fornisce le conoscenze di base nei diversi settori della biologia moderna e le competenze culturali e tecnologiche per produrre beni e servizi attraverso l'analisi e l'uso dei sistemi biologici; per questo lo studente affronta anche le problematiche bioetiche e le normative sulle biotecnologie.
Gli insegnamenti teorici e multimediali sono affiancati da esperienze di laboratorio. Per conseguire il titolo di studio, alla fine del terzo anno lo studente dovrà compiere un breve tirocinio sperimentale presso un laboratorio, oppure compiere una ricerca teorico-compilativa sotto la guida di un docente.
Il corso di laurea comprende attività formative per le biotecnologie industriali, agro-alimentari, ambientali, farmaceutiche, mediche e veterinarie.

Ambiti occupazionali
I laureati potranno lavorare in centri di ricerca pubblici e privati che sviluppano nuove tecnologie, in consorzi pubblici e privati per la tutela dell'ambiente, in industrie farmaceutiche ed agroalimentari, nell'ambito sanitario, veterinario e della comunicazione scientifica.

Dalla triennale alla magistrale
Il corso dà accesso ai corsi di laurea magistrale in Biotecnologie farmaceutiche, Biotecnologie industriali, Biotecnologie per l'alimentazione e Medical Biotechnologies, secondo le modalità che saranno indicate negli specifici avvisi di ammissione.
