Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso insegna inizialmente i metodi della matematica (analitica e numerica), le leggi e i metodi della fisica e dedica un'attenzione particolare alla formazione in chimica, generale e organica. Successivamente si approfondiscono metodi originali di progettazione, sviluppo, ottimizzazione, gestione e controllo dei processi di trasformazione della materia che prevedano reazioni e cambiamenti di stato fisico. Le materie caratterizzanti offrono una cultura scientifica multidisciplinare, con ampie opportunità di specializzazione: dalla tradizionale impiantistica chimica al disinquinamento, dalla valutazione d'impatto ambientale alla sicurezza, dalla produzione d'energia alle applicazioni biotecnologiche; dalla progettazione di materiali innovativi ai processi di fabbricazione dei materiali con impiego appropriato delle materie prime e delle risorse energetiche.

Ambiti occupazionali
Il percorso ha carattere prevalentemente formativo e quindi lo sbocco naturale è una specializzazione nelle lauree magistrali naturalmente collegate o affini. Gli sbocchi professionali comprendono invece industrie di trasformazione di materie prime, attività di produzione e trasformazione di energia, società di servizi per la gestione di apparecchiature e impianti, imprese di progettazione e centri di ricerca e sviluppo di aziende pubbliche e private, enti operanti nel settore del trattamento dei rifiuti solidi, liquidi ed aeriformi, aziende ed enti civili e industriali nei quali è richiesta la figura del responsabile della sicurezza nell'ambiente di lavoro e nella protezione ambientale.

Dalla triennale alla magistrale
I laureati possono aspirare ad accedere a diversi corsi di laurea magistrale in particolare dell'area dell'Ingegneria Industriale secondo i relativi requisiti d'accesso.
