Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso, promosso con il supporto scientifico e organizzativo del Centro di Ateneo per i Diritti Umani, fornisce una formazione multidimensionale, nella quale le conoscenze di base di diritto, economia, sociologia, storia, filosofia, relazioni internazionali convergono sul tema dei diritti umani. Obiettivo del corso è formare studenti con un adeguato bagaglio di conoscenze teoriche e applicative, in possesso di una cultura critica che li renda capaci di operare in modo consapevole e informato in associazioni, imprese e istituzioni attive a livello locale, nazionale e internazionale.
Il laureato è in grado di analizzare il complesso sistema della governance articolata su più livelli, da quello locale a quello europeo e internazionale, prestando particolare attenzione alle problematiche poste dai gruppi maggiormente vulnerabili e in una prospettiva di genere. Al termine del corso di laurea lo studente possiede capacità di analisi, di negoziazione, di elaborazione e gestione di progetti, tali da consentirgli di inserirsi attivamente e agire in molteplici e diversificati settori professionali a livello sia nazionale sia internazionale. Ha inoltre maturato capacità di esprimere giudizi scientificamente ed eticamente fondati su questioni sociali, politiche, normative e a individuare possibili percorsi di decisione e azione, avendo sempre come paradigma di riferimento quello dei diritti umani internazionalmente riconosciuti, dello human development e della human security.
Il laureato acquisisce inoltre le competenze necessarie per intraprendere ulteriori studi con un alto grado di autonomia.
Agli studenti è offerta la possibilità di partecipare a workshops internazionali e di dialogare con professori di università di altri paesi europei ed extra europei, esperti e funzionari di organizzazioni internazionali (Unione europea, Nazioni unite, Consiglio d'Europa, Organizzazione per la sicurezza e la cooperazione in Europa), dirigenti di organizzazioni non governative. Il corso promuove e incoraggia attività di studio nelle università dei paesi europei ed extra-europei attraverso programmi per la mobilità studentesca e accordi bilaterali dell'Università di Padova con altri prestigiosi atenei.

Ambiti occupazionali
Il laureato potrà lavorare nelle istituzioni europee e nelle organizzazioni internazionali, governative e non governative; nella pubblica amministrazione locale, regionale e nazionale, in particolare nei dipartimenti e uffici che si occupano di relazioni internazionali, diritti umani, cooperazione allo sviluppo, pace, pari opportunità e diritti delle donne, diritti dei minori, difesa civica, servizi alla persona; nel campo dell'informazione e della formazione sui diritti umani e lo sviluppo umano; in uffici di sindacati e imprese che si dedicano alle relazioni internazionali, alla cooperazione, al dialogo sociale, all'applicazione della norma etica e di clausole sociali; nel terzo settore, in particolare nelle organizzazioni nongovernative transnazionali.

Dalla triennale alla magistrale
Il corso di laurea prevede l'accesso ai corsi di laurea magistrale in “Scienze del governo e politiche pubbliche” (LM-63), “Studi Europei” (LM-90), “Human Rights and Multi-level governance” (LM-52), “Politica Internazionale e Diplomazia” (LM-52) e ad altre lauree secondo le modalità che saranno indicate negli specifici avvisi di ammissione.
