Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il Corso di studi fornisce una formazione specialistica in ambito storico, relativamente ad un periodo che va dall'età tardo-antica all'età contemporanea.
Il Corso ha come obiettivo principale quello di fornire ai propri studenti:
• la piena consapevolezza degli strumenti e dei metodi della ricerca storica;
• la conoscenza specialistica dei temi e dei processi storici relativi ad uno dei tre tradizionali segmenti periodizzanti (Età medievale, Età moderna, Età contemporanea);
• la conoscenza approfondita dei dibattiti che attraversano la storiografia contemporanea;
• la capacità di confrontarsi con temi e metodi di altri ambiti disciplinari (scienze sociali, filosofia, letteratura), che sono funzionali al loro percorso formativo.
Negli insegnamenti erogati dal Corso, la ricostruzione del passato è realizzata attraverso diverse prospettive di analisi (dalla storia politica e istituzionale, a quella culturale, sociale, ambientale, economica, religiosa, di genere), che consentono allo studente di entrare in contatto e di confrontarsi con i principali metodi e scuole storiografiche.
Inoltre il Corso è articolato in modo da offrire allo studente la possibilità di acquisire le nozioni indispensabili per un uso critico e consapevole delle diverse tipologie di materiale documentario. Infine il Corso di laurea magistrale ha inserito nelle materie “Affini e integrative” insegnamenti di materie letterarie e filosofiche, che sono utili non solo per la complessiva formazione umanistica dello studente, ma sono funzionali anche per l'accesso alle classi di concorso per l'insegnamento nella scuola secondaria.
Alla fine del Corso di studi in Scienze Storiche lo studente avrà conseguito una conoscenza critica dei principali fenomeni storici, sarà in grado di individuare in modo autonomo metodi e strumenti utili per la loro ricostruzione e avrà acquisito le competenze per comunicare in modo adeguato le conoscenze acquisite.


Ambiti occupazionali
- Redattore, editor, pubblicista, con particolare riferimento alla comunicazione storica
- Conservatore (storico, archivista, curatore museale) e esperto culturale di area. Per svolgere questo tipo di attività professionale è in certi casi richiesta l'acquisizione di un'ulteriore specializzazione.
- Ricercatori e tecnici laureati nelle scienze storiche e filosofiche. Per svolgere questo tipo di attività professionale è in certi casi richiesta l'acquisizione di un'ulteriore specializzazione.
- Professori di discipline storiche, filosofiche, letterarie nelle scuole secondarie (per svolgere questa professione è richiesta l'acquisizione di un'ulteriore specializzazione, secondo quanto previsto dalla normativa ministeriale relativa all’abilitazione all’insegnamento)
