Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso rafforza e approfondisce le conoscenze di aree fondamentali dell'informatica; fornire conoscenze relative ad attività e applicazioni innovative; avviare gli studenti alle attività di ricerca (fondamentale e applicata). Il percorso formativo prevede insegnamenti relativi alle aree di calcolabilità e algoritmi avanzati; paradigmi di programmazione, metodi formali di specifica e analisi, logica avanzata; crittografia e sicurezza; sistemi concorrenti, distribuiti, real-time, ipermediali, wireless; tecnologie avanzate per il web; tecnologie open-source; intelligenza artificiale, apprendimento automatico, ottimizzazione combinatoria, data mining; bioinformatica.

Ambiti occupazionali
Gli specialisti in scienze matematiche, fisiche e naturali, gli informatici e i telematici si dedicano all'attività di ricerca, o alla supervisione e direzione di progetti di sviluppo e ricerca, in strutture sia pubbliche che private. La richiesta di informatici con capacità dirigenziali e di supervisione di progetti di alto livello da parte del mondo del lavoro è particolarmente pressante. Pertanto l'assorbimento da parte del mondo del lavoro risulta promettente. Inoltre tale laurea consente di proseguire eventualmente con il dottorato di ricerca in Informatica o in discipline affini.
