Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso ha l'obiettivo di formare biologi marini capaci di applicare le loro conoscenze alla salvaguardia del patrimonio biologico e degli stock naturali, all'uso responsabile delle risorse marine o allo sviluppo di metodiche e tecnologie per l'allevamento di specie di valore commerciale. Le conoscenze delle proprietà dei sistemi biologici acquisite nel triennio vengono approfondite grazie allo studio delle tematiche proprie dei meccanismi e delle dinamiche evolutive, delle strategie riproduttive e adattative e della plasticità morfo-funzionale, genetica e biomolecolare nei rapporti organismo-ambiente. Il laureato magistrale potrà iscriversi (dopo il superamento del relativo esame di stato) all'albo per la professione di biologo sezione A, con il titolo professionale di biologo.

Ambiti occupazionali
La professionalità acquisita con la laurea magistrale in Biologia marina consente l'accesso a occupazioni con funzioni di responsabilità in enti pubblici o privati preposti alla salvaguardia e gestione dell'ambiente marino, laboratori di tossicologia marina; laboratori di valutazione della qualità dei prodotti ittici, impianti di acquacoltura; funzioni di consulenza in indagini di impatto ambientale, gestione responsabile delle specie marine di valore commerciale, riproduzione di specie ittiche di valore commerciale; funzioni di ricerca scientifica in università, Cnr, Enea, e altri enti pubblici di ricerca, stazioni di biologia marina, impianti sperimentali mirati alla ricerca in acquacoltura e industria.
