Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
L'ingegneria dell'energia elettrica si occupa di generazione, trasporto, gestione e utilizzazione dell'energia elettrica. La laurea magistrale in Ingegneria dell'energia elettrica offre un ampio spettro di conoscenze e competenze multidisciplinari, che comprendono non solo capacità tecniche specifiche ma anche la visione strategica necessaria ad affrontare con successo le sfide tecnologiche e socio-economiche del futuro. L'energia elettrica avrà un ruolo primario nello sviluppo economico e sociale, con importanza crescente nelle società industriali, a ragione dell'elevatissima flessibilità ed ubiquità di utilizzo. La laurea magistrale in Ingegneria dell'energia elettrica è la naturale prosecuzione della laurea triennale in Ingegneria dell'energia nelle aree culturali specifiche dell'energia elettrica.

Ambiti occupazionali
Le aziende in cui trovano tipicamente occupazione i laureati sono: le università e gli enti di ricerca che operano in ambito elettrico ed energetico a livello nazionale e internazionale; gli enti pubblici e privati per la gestione dei sistemi, delle reti e dei dispositivi di generazione elettrica sia convenzionali che innovativi, a livello locale, regionale, nazionale e internazionale; le industrie manifatturiere produttrici di apparecchiature e sistemi elettrici ed elettromeccanici anche in settori innovativi rivolti alle energie rinnovabili ed ecosostenibili; le industrie manifatturiere non elettriche con forti problematiche e interessi nell'energia elettrica; le società di engineering; gli studi professionali. A breve termine le prospettive di occupazione dei neolaureati in Ingegneria elettrica e Ingegneria dell'energia elettrica sono elevate: secondo i dati AlmaLaurea del 2014 ad un anno dalla laurea il tasso di disoccupazione degli ingegneri elettrici di Padova è del 7.1% (contro il 13.7% medio degli ingegneri elettrici italiani e il 10.9% medio dei laureati italiani in ingegneria) e scende al 4% a 3 anni dalla laurea. Va tuttavia sottolineato che il 100% degli inoccupati dichiara di non cercare occupazione per motivi di studio. Oltre a ciò, buone sono le prospettive di carriera verso i livelli dirigenziali, con responsabilità di coordinamento e di indirizzo strategico.
