Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso forma un professionista di alto livello, capace di modellizzare, identificare, progettare e gestire apparati e sistemi per l'automazione, seriamente informato circa le problematiche dell'ingegneria industriale, con una solida conoscenza delle caratteristiche dei vari processi tecnologici per i quali dovrà progettare le leggi di controllo, l'architettura del sistema di automazione e le parti componenti dello stesso.
Gli obiettivi formativi del corso si distinguono per uno spiccato carattere scientifico, legato all'acquisizione di conoscenze metodologiche estese e approfondite nel settore fisico-matematico, nelle aree dell'informazione e particolarmente in quella dell'automatica e di capacità progettuali negli ambiti tecnologici più innovativi, basate sull'impiego degli strumenti più moderni. Il laureato magistrale in Ingegneria dell'automazione sarà in grado di: adeguarsi alla rapida innovazione tecnologica nelle diverse branche dell'ingegneria dell'informazione assimilando prontamente nuovi metodi e strumenti di progettazione e di gestione che incontrerà nel corso della vita professionale; interfacciarsi con altri settori dell'ingegneria, segnatamente quelli dell'ingegneria elettrica, meccanica e di processo; ideare, pianificare e gestire processi e servizi complessi e/o innovativi; utilizzare fluentemente, in forma scritta e orale, la lingua inglese, e possibilmente altre dell'Unione europea oltre l'italiano, con riferimento soprattutto ai lessici disciplinari dell'Ingegneria dell'informazione.

Ambiti occupazionali
Gli ambiti professionali tipici sono quelli dell'innovazione e dello sviluppo della produzione, della progettazione avanzata, della pianificazione e della programmazione, della gestione di sistemi complessi, sia nella libera professione sia nelle imprese manifatturiere o di servizi che nelle amministrazioni pubbliche. I laureati magistrali potranno trovare occupazione presso imprese elettroniche, elettromeccaniche, chimiche, aeronautiche e aerospaziali in cui sono sviluppate funzioni di dimensionamento e realizzazione di architetture complesse, di sistemi automatici, di processi e di impianti per l'automazione che integrino componenti informatici, apparati di misura, trasmissione e attuazione.
