Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso fornisce conoscenze avanzate e forma figure professionali adeguate allo svolgimento di attività di controllo, gestione e coordinamento nell'ambito della filiera agro-alimentare, allo scopo di garantire la sicurezza, la qualità e la salubrità degli alimenti. Si privilegia un approccio interdisciplinare rivolto all'acquisizione di conoscenze trasversali che rappresentino, per il laureato, gli strumenti necessari per valutare e risolvere problemi anche complessi del settore in questione. Il percorso formativo prevede approfondimenti specifici riguardo la qualità chimica, fisica, sensoriale, tecnologica e normativa degli alimenti sia di origine vegetale che animale, nonché l'acquisizione di conoscenze avanzate e di notevole impatto applicativo in ambito biotecnologico, analitico ed economico.
A completamento di tale percorso, è prevista l'acquisizione di conoscenze su argomenti specialistici, che lo studente sceglie in base alle proprie attitudini e ai propri interessi, all'interno di una variegata offerta che valorizza le aree di competenza specifiche dei docenti.

Ambiti occupazionali
Il laureato magistrale potrà svolgere, a un livello di elevata qualificazione, attività di gestione, conduzione e programmazione, nonché di risoluzione di problematiche complesse, operando nell'industria alimentare (produzione, trasformazione e conservazione dei prodotti alimentari), nelle aziende della grande distribuzione organizzata, nella ristorazione collettiva e in enti pubblici e privati che svolgono attività di pianificazione, analisi, controllo, certificazione e formazione in ambito agro-alimentare, nonché in quelli di ricerca e sperimentazione. Inoltre potrà accedere alla libera professione nonchè intraprendere studi più avanzati (dottorato di ricerca, corsi di specializzazione, master di secondo livello) per una crescita e specializzazione nel settore della ricerca.
