Syllabus
Prerequisites: Course attendance requires basic knowledge acquired in first year courses.
Target skills and knowledge: The course will present the major areas of human sexuality as physiology, psycho-sexology and clinical sexology. More specifically, the student will acquire basic knowledge and instruments to operate in different socio-psycho- sexology related settings.
Examination methods: Students who will regularly attend the course will asked to present in class a preferred topic, as part of the final exam. The exam consists in a written test with multiple-choice. Oral exam is at the discretion of the professor.
Assessment criteria: Evaluation of students achievement will be made in relation to the understanding of course topics, the knowledge and integration of key concepts and methods.
Course unit contents: -Sex and sexuality: physiology and anatomy, patterns of sexual response, psychosexual development among lifetime
- Psychological models of male and female sexual functions
- Psycho-sexology: sexual health, sexuality and pathology, sexual practices
- Sexuality 2.0: sex and new technologies
- Psycho-sexology fields of application
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Course topics will be covered through lectures, with the help of videos for specific subjects. Class discussion is favoured and extremely welcome.
