Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso approfondisce la conoscenza degli elementi di base della fisica moderna (astrofisica, fisica atomica e molecolare, dello stato solido, nucleare e delle particelle elementari) degli elementi di base della fisica teorica quali la meccanica analitica, la meccanica quantistica, la meccanica statistica e dei metodi matematici e di calcolo numerico per la fisica. Viene offerta la possibilità di approfondire ulteriormente campi specifici della fisica quali biofisica, astrofisica, elettronica, fisica nucleare e subnucleare, struttura della materia. Il corso fornisce inoltre l'esperienza diretta delle tecniche di laboratorio e delle tecniche informatiche di calcolo ed analisi dati.
Il laureato magistrale avrà comprensione e conoscenza dei più rilevanti fatti del mondo fisico che ci circonda, con attenzione ai vari livelli cui si manifestano (fisica classica di ogni giorno, fisica atomica, fisica degli stati condensati, fisica nucleare e subnucleare). Tale comprensione si fonderà sulla fenomenologia sperimentale e su un profondo utilizzo della modellizzazione e dei suoi strumenti fisico-matematici, incluse le tecniche numeriche. Le teorie fisiche più rilevanti verranno apprese in termini di struttura logica e matematica, di evidenze sperimentali e di conseguente modellizzazione dei fenomeni fisici da esse descritte.

Ambiti occupazionali
I laureati magistrali possono trovare lavoro presso industrie che utilizzano tecnologie innovative, in qualunque campo tecnologico, nell'ambito manifatturiero così come in quello dei servizi in aziende che puntano sull' innovazione o che richiedono capacità di modellizzazione e simulazione di processi o anche dell'andamento dei mercati con compiti di analisi e verifica.
