Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso di studio fornisce allo studente una solida formazione nelle metodologie e tecnologie dell'ingegneria applicate alle problematiche mediche e biologiche, con particolare riferimento alla capacità di descrivere analiticamente, simulare e analizzare sistemi e segnali di interesse medico-biologico. La preparazione include, assieme agli aspetti professionali, la capacità di affrontare temi di particolare interesse per ricerca e innovazione tecnologica nonché le specifiche conoscenze negli ambiti multidisciplinari della professione del bioingegnere.

Ambiti occupazionali
Il laureato magistrale trova sbocchi occupazionali nelle industrie del settore biomedico e farmaceutico, produttrici e fornitrici di sistemi, apparecchiature e materiali per diagnosi, cura e riabilitazione che investono in ricerca di base e applicata, nell'innovazione e nello sviluppo di prodotti biomedicali e di farmaci, nella progettazione avanzata, nella pianificazione e nella gestione di sistemi complessi. Inoltre, la figura professionale che privilegia una preparazione approfondita nel settore della strumentazione (sistemi per la rilevazione di segnali bioelettrici, di bioimmagini morfologiche e funzionali, sistemi terapeutici ecc.) si inserisce facilmente in aziende ospedaliere pubbliche e private, società di servizi per la gestione di apparecchiature ed impianti medicali e di telemedicina, laboratori specializzati e nella libera professione. Altri ambiti occupazionali sono le società che operano nel settore delle biotecnologie, dell'ingegneria cellulare e tissutale, e l'industria manifatturiera in generale per quanto riguarda l'ergonometria dei prodotti/processi e l'impatto delle tecnologie sulla salute dell'uomo. La laurea magistrale costituisce infine il titolo di studio necessario per l'accesso al dottorato di ricerca, sia in ambito nazionale che internazionale.
