Syllabus
Prerequisites: Aerospace Propulsion course is preferred
Target skills and knowledge: Team working, capability of facing practical problems using the know-how acquired in previous curses. Knowledge on hybrid rocket.
Examination methods: Students prepare a report regarding the work they have performed. The report can be prepared by several students together if they have cooperated in a group. Moreover students also prepare an individual Power Point presentation about the job they have done ( individually).
The exam is a discussion of the report and of the individual presentation.
The final vote is a combination between the evaluation of the report and the presentation.
Assessment criteria: General approach to the research program. Capability of working autonomusly. Capability of investigating complex problem.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The research program varies from year to year. The basic course focuses on the problems of ibrdi propulsion. Subsequently, a practical problem to be investigated is presented which changes from year to year.

Hybrid Propulsion: Hybrid propulsion, propellant grain, combustion chamber, combustion issues, regression velocities, oxidants and related problems, oxidants and associated problems. Systems for increasing regression speed and combustion efficiency. Pressurization systems and associated issues. Pressurization systems and associated issues. Sizing Methods. Optimization and simulation methods.
