Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso fornisce una preparazione specifica rivolta alla progettazione, gestione, manutenzione e collaudo di veicoli e vettori spaziali e dei relativi sottosistemi per applicazioni civili, industriali e scientifiche. Lo studente acquisirà una preparazione scientifica e professionale rivolta essenzialmente ai filoni culturali specifici del settore aerospaziale (aerodinamica, strutture aerospaziali, dinamica del volo spaziale, propulsione, gestione e collaudo dei sistemi di bordo). Tale preparazione sarà comunque affiancata da un certo numero di corsi appartenenti a campi propri dell'ingegneria industriale (meccanica dei fluidi, misure meccaniche e termiche, controllo termico, tecnologia meccanica).
Il percorso formativo si articola essenzialmente su due ambiti formativi: a) quello più specificamente indirizzato al settore aerospaziale, con corsi di aerodinamica, di costruzioni aerospaziali, di impianti e sistemi aerospaziali, di dinamica del volo spaziale, di propulsione, di strumentazione di bordo. b) quello rivolto alla preparazione in filoni culturali che, pur appartenendo a campi propri dell'ingegneria industriale, maggiormente si prestano ad essere applicati in attività di tipo aerospaziale (come macchine, misure meccaniche e termiche, controllo termico, tecnologia meccanica).

Ambiti occupazionali
Questa laurea magistrale mira a fornire agli studenti capacità professionali che li mettano in grado di: operare nelle industrie nazionali ed internazionali del settore; gestire efficacemente rapporti con le agenzie ed enti spaziali; interfacciarsi con enti pubblici e privati per la sperimentazione in campo aerospaziale. Ai laureati si aprono sbocchi occupazionali al di fuori dei limiti regionali e nazionali, sia in centri di ricerca, sia in industrie del settore grazie a conoscenze idonee a svolgere attività professionali in ogni ambito proprio di un programma spaziale: la definizione del profilo di missione, la realizzazione di studi di fattibilità, la definizione dei requisiti tecnico-scientifici, la traduzione di questi ultimi in specifiche di sistema e sottosistema, la progettazione di dettaglio dei sottosistemi di un veicolo spaziale (in particolare la struttura, i meccanismi, il controllo e la determinazione dell'orbita e dell'assetto, il controllo termico, i propulsori), la progettazione optomeccanica di strumentazione scientifica, la realizzazione di prototipi e il loro collaudo, l'esecuzione di prove sperimentali di qualifica e accettazione di componenti destinati al volo.
