Syllabus
Prerequisites: Applied hydraulics, hydrology
Target skills and knowledge: Knowledge on pecial issues concerning water distribution and drainage systems with special focus on sustainable water management.
Studying and modelling ater quantity and water quality related ecosystem vulnerability.
Examination methods: Practical activity (following lectures on special topics, in order to fix major issues, to be delivered on MOODLE)
Oral examination
Assessment criteria: Evaluation of acquired knowledge, conceptualization and problem solving skills.
Course unit contents: Sustainable water management.
Water crisis.
Numerical and conceptual modelling water distribution and drainage systems.
Water quantinty and water quality issues.
Water treatment.
Land and water use change: man-soil-vegetaion-atmosphere interaction and feedbacks.
Reliability of water drainage and water distribution systems.
