Syllabus
Prerequisites: Knowledge on Basic concepts of Psychology and Psychobiology
Target skills and knowledge: Aim of this course is to guide the students in the investigation of sensory and perceptual processes, in particular vision and hearing
Examination methods: The exam will consist of multiple choice questions
Assessment criteria: The evaluation of the preparation of the students will take into account the standard of learning and understanding reached on the various topics covered in this course
Course unit contents: Psychophysics

Vision:
- anatomy and physiology of visual pathways
- spatial vision
- object's perception and recognition
- stereopsis depth perception
- motion perception
- attention and perception of complex scenes

Hearing:
- anatomy and physiology of hearing
- frequency selectivity
- pitch
- loudness
- auditory scene analysis
- elements of psychology of music
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Frontal lessons will be interleaved with interactive discussions and practical exercises
