Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of psychological and cognitive psychology concepts.
Target skills and knowledge: Students of this course are expected to demonstrate
-the ability to communicate effectively (in writing and/or orally) the results of a project;
-the ability to effectively extract central points and summarize psychological research literature and to write in the format of psychological research.
-demonstrate the ability to apply psychological concepts and theories to research and real life situations.
Examination methods: The exam is written with short essays to questions.

Students who will attend lectures regularly will have the opportunity to submit to a partial examination at the end of the first half of the course.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation will be based on the verification of the understanding of the main topics presented and discussed during the course and in the textbook. Students of this course are expected to demonstrate critical thinking in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of information in the scientific literature. They are also expected to demonstrate knowledge of major psychological concepts, theories, and empirical findings and mastery of language.
Course unit contents: Foundations of language. Speech perception and its acquisition. Processing written language. Speech production. Concepts and the lexicon. Sentence processing. Text processing.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: There will be standard lectures and training lectures in which concepts exposed by the teacher will be repeated and tested.
Students who attend regularly will be required to study research articles and present them in class with the help of slides. Also simulations of the exam condition will be carried out.
Additional notes about suggested reading: Students who attend regularly will have to study only part of the text book and in addition scientific articles proposed by the teacher. Scientific articles and slides will be available in Moodle to attendees.
Students who will not attend the lectures will only have to study the textbook.
