Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
L’ingegneria biomedica utilizza i metodi e le tecnologie proprie dell’ingegneria per comprendere i problemi relativi alle scienze della vita e sviluppa nuove metodologie e dispositivi diagnostici, terapeutici e riabilitativi. Pertanto, il corso di laurea in Ingegneria biomedica intende fornire una preparazione ingegneristica di base a largo spettro, integrata da conoscenze sui fondamenti della bioingegneria elettronica, dell’informazione, meccanica e chimica, e della biologia e fisiologia, finalizzata a favorire un pronto inserimento nel mondo del lavoro e di operare, a diversi livelli, nella vasta gamma di attività industriali e di servizio in cui è necessario affrontare le problematiche dell'impatto delle tecnologie sull'uomo e, più in generale, sul mondo biologico.

Ambiti occupazionali
La preparazione intende favorire un pronto inserimento nel mondo industriale e sanitario, a cavallo tra tecnologie avanzate e problematiche medico-biologiche.
Possibili ambiti occupazionali sono: le industrie di produzione e commercializzazione di apparecchiature per la prevenzione/diagnosi/cura/riabilitazione/monitoraggio di biomateriali, di biosensori, di dispositivi impiantabili e portabili, di protesi/ortesi, di sistemi robotizzati per applicazioni biomediche, di organi artificiali e di sistemi di supporto funzionale e ausili per i disabili; la telemedicina e le applicazioni telematiche alla salute; l’informatica medica relativamente ai sistemi informativi sanitari e al software di elaborazione di dati biomedici e bioimmagini; i servizi di ingegneria biomedica (o ingegneria clinica/tecnologie biomediche) nelle strutture sanitarie pubbliche e private, nel mondo dello sport, dell’esercizio fisico e dell’intrattenimento; le società di servizi per la gestione di apparecchiature e impianti biomedici.

Dalla triennale alla magistrale
Il proseguimento degli studi verso corsi di laurea magistrale nell’ambito dell’ingegneria dell’informazione presso l’Università di Padova richiede di soddisfare i requisiti di accesso indicati negli avvisi di ammissione.
