Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso fornisce conoscenze e forma capacità professionali che garantiscano una visione completa delle attività e delle problematiche relative alla produzione, trasformazione e conservazione delle derrate e dei prodotti alimentari. In particolare si propone di fornire una solida preparazione di base che consenta l'acquisizione delle conoscenze proprie del settore, portando al conseguimento di competenze per poter intervenire negli ambiti inerenti la produzione, la trasformazione, la sicurezza, la qualità e l'igiene degli alimenti, per ridurre gli sprechi e l'impatto ambientale. Il corso di studio fornisce inoltre conoscenze di base di economia e di gestione delle imprese agroalimentari e dei mercati, unitamente ad aspetti normativi, integrando le conoscenze di natura economica con quelle dell'etica.

Ambiti occupazionali
Il laureato potrà operare nell'ambito della gestione e del controllo nella produzione, conservazione, trasformazione, distribuzione e somministrazione di alimenti e bevande, con l'obiettivo del miglioramento degli aspetti qualitativi e commerciali dei prodotti alimentari, garantendo la sostenibilità e l'ecocompatibilità delle varie attività coinvolte. Potrà trovare impiego nelle aziende che si occupano di produzione, trasformazione, conservazione e distribuzione dei prodotti alimentari e negli enti di analisi, controllo, certificazione e indagine per la tutela delle produzioni alimentari. Potrà lavorare anche in aziende che forniscono materiali, impianti, coadiuvanti tecnologici, ingredienti e semilavorati per la produzione di alimenti. Il laureato può sostenere l'esame di abilitazione all'esercizio della professione di dottore agronomo e dottore forestale junior, perito agrario laureato e agrotecnico laureato.

Il corso dà accesso diretto al corso di laurea magistrale in Scienze e tecnologie alimentari.
