Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il profilo formativo consente al laureato in Ingegneria informatica di operare nei settori della progettazione, ingegnerizzazione, produzione, esercizio e manutenzione dei sistemi di elaborazione, degli impianti informatici e dei sistemi informativi, nella direzione e gestione di laboratori informatici e di sistemi informativi aziendali, sia nel contesto della produzione industriale che nell'area dei servizi. Il laureato conosce le principali caratteristiche dei sistemi di elaborazione e dei sistemi informativi. Le competenze acquisite gli consentono di operare anche nelle attività di promozione, vendita, assistenza tecnica. Nel primo anno la preparazione (in comune con le altre laurea della Classe L8 di Padova) riguarda le conoscenze di base di matematica, fisica e informatica; dal secondo la preparazione si differenzia e include, oltre ai fondamenti delle tecnologie dell'informazione, l'apprendimento delle principali metodologie proprie dell'ingegneria informatica e l'acquisizione di una congrua esperienza di laboratorio. Il terzo anno si concentra sugli aspetti peculiari, evidenziandone gli aspetti applicativi. Il corso è orientato all'immediato inserimento nel mondo del lavoro del laureato.

Ambiti occupazionali
Il corso di laurea forma figure professionali competenti per la progettazione, realizzazione e gestione di sistemi informatici complessi, e non per la semplice utilizzazione dei sistemi stessi. Tra i possibili sbocchi lavorativi per un ingegnere informatico: progetto e realizzazione di sistemi informativi aziendali; automazione dei servizi in enti pubblici e privati; sviluppo di sistemi e applicazioni multimediali e distribuite in rete, con particolare riferimento alla rete Internet; realizzazione di sistemi di elaborazione; sviluppo di sistemi integrati per la supervisione di impianti. Il laureato in Ingegneria informatica è un professionista orientato essenzialmente allo sfruttamento e alla gestione della tecnologia disponibile.

Dalla triennale alla magistrale
Questo corso non prevede il proseguimento degli studi con un corso di laurea magistrale. L’ammissione al corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria informatica dell’università di Padova sarà comunque possibile integrando il piano di studi con un insieme predefinito di insegnamenti (“passerella”) a completamento delle conoscenze necessarie.
