Syllabus
Prerequisites: A good knowledge of French and English
Examination methods: The participation during the seminars and the final relations presented to the class will be evaluated
Course unit contents: The course aims to provide notions in business history in order to understand the role of economic actors (firms and entrepreneurs), of their organisations and of their strategies behind technological and productive choices. In particular, we will focus on the specific issue of the technological innovation as the outcome of firms strategies and structures, which belongs to specific social and historical contexts. An institutional standpoint will be adopted to the historical problem of the firm, in order to understand the mutual interactions between actors and societies in shaping technology and economy.
