Syllabus
Prerequisites: Knowledge of Cervantes’ "Lazarillo de Tormes" and "Quijote" will be taken for granted. In the event that the two texts have not been studied during the three years, students will have to consider them mandatory reading.
Examination methods: oral exame
Course unit contents: The Spanish novel in the Western tradition: to the origin of the transformation between Renaissance and Baroque.

The course includes the mandatory reading of the following literary texts:
1. A novel to be chosen among:
Eliodoro, "Storie etiopiche"
Longo Sofista, "Dafni e Cloe"
Petronio, "Satyricon"

2. Miguel de Cervantes, "Los trabajos de Persiles y Sigismunda"

4. Madame de Lafayette, "La principessa di Clèves"

Knowledge of Cervantes’ "Lazarillo de Tormes" and "Quijote" will be taken for granted. In the event that the two texts have not been studied during the three years, students will have to consider them mandatory reading.

During the course will be made available critical bibliography difficult to find.

The non attending students will have to arrange with the teacher the critical bibliography support.
