Syllabus
Prerequisites: Students should have already acquired a basic knowledge of eukaryotic cell biology, control of gene expression, differentiation, histology and developmental biology
Examination methods: Essays on theoretical arguments treated during the course.
Lab tests of digital imaging applied to developmental biology.
Journal club presentation of a specific publication.
Report of lab activities
Course unit contents: History and problems of developmental genetics, Molecular cellular mechanisms controlling development, digital imaging quantification of genetic effects, fate mapping, signaling pathways and their function and visualization (FGF, TGFb, BMP, HH, Notch, Hypoxia, Hippo, STATs etc), induction of main axis (DV, AP and LR) in vertebrates and drosophila, examples in organ formation.
