Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of petrography, geochemistry and mineralogy
Examination methods: Oral examination in english
Course unit contents: Focusing on the metapelitic system, and through extensive practice at the microscopic laboratory, the course will provide deep insight into the main aspects of metamorphic petrology, such as: metamorphic classification; equilibrium assemblages; metamorphic facies; chemographies and other graphical representations; metamorphic reactions and equilibria; role of fluids in metamorphism, fluid inclusions; geothermobarometry and phase equilibria calculations; metamorphism of pelites; contact metamorphism; crustal anatexis; microstructures of anatectic rocks; melt inclusions in migmatites and granulites.
