Syllabus
Prerequisites: An introductory-intermediate knowledge of the English language equal to the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which is the level attained after at least 5 years of secondary-high school education or the completion of a 250 hour course in any other specialized school or institution, is highly recommended.
Examination methods: The final exam will be completed online at the University of Padua and will include various theoretical questions and exercises based on the content of the lesson videos and each week’s proposed exercises. More information on this will be provided in the course page on the moodle platform. The final evaluation will be „passed“ or „not passed“.
Course unit contents: The course is based on specific lessons explaining the vocabulary and grammar that are most commonly used in academic and psychology English as well as on skills concerning the reading, analysis and comprehension of psychological texts in English. Each lesson will present one video on the topic of the module and the skills that are necessary to work with related texts, as well as forums and exercises with the aim of consolidating the notions acquired during the lesson. The course activity, which is to be completed in order to be considered an attending student, will be completely in English and based on the writing and elaboration of a psychological text or article by groups that will be established at the beginning of the course.
