Examination methods: The exam will be written or oral and will concern the arguments presented in class.
Course unit contents: Soil and rock mechanics: classification of porous media and rocks; physical and transitional state of soils and rocks; resistence and deformation of porous media; representative laboratory tests; constitutive equations; state law for porous media; solid-fluid interactions.
Methodologies for geotechnical analysis: limit equilibrium for soil collapse; limit equilibrium for landslides; continuous and discontinuous approaches; mesh-based and meshless methods; dicrete models; MPM.
Risk analysis: definition and relevant legislation; GIS and geomorphological assessment; susceptibility maps and calibration; exposition and vulnerability to landslides; risk mapping and possible scenarios; interaction with meteorogical data and uncertainity; earthquacke generated landslides
